In an effort to promote green energy and save consumers money, Nebraska Public Power District has
launched a campaign to help its residential customers buy light-emitting diode, or LED, bulbs. The Columbus-based utility and its wholesale customer utilities will provide customers with an account credit worth $5 for each 60-, 75- or 100-watt LED bulb they buy, with as many as 10 credits available per residential account this year.
