Although he won’t be here to see it to fruition, Town Manager Jonathan B. Sistare said he hopes town officials will pursue his suggestion to convert the streetlights in town to use
light-emitting diode bulbs. Last month, Sistare presented the council with a proposal for the town to buy the streetlights it now rents from CL&P. Once the lights are bought, Sistare’s proposal calls for replacing the present mercury vapor lights with LEDs.
