This is not your average light bulb

LED lighting is more power-efficient and lasts longer than traditional incandescent lighting, but it has its limitations, too. It’s expensive, it doesn’t always work with dimmers and is usually larger than a traditional bulb, which means it may not always fit where incandescents do. That’s about to change. Cree, Inc., which recently introduced LED technology that uses fewer LEDs to create even more light, just unveiled an LED that most closely resembles a classic light bulb. It incorporates some, though not all, of its new SC5 technology.
